Detailed look at Norton 360 for Gamers

I decided to try Norton 360 for Gamers because I was worried about my PC's security while playing online. Ordering was simple on their site, and I received the confirmation email quickly. Downloading and installing it was surprisingly fast, maybe 10-15 minutes tops, even with my slightly older internet. I noticed the 'dark web monitoring' feature, which is a neat addition for peace of mind. Performance-wise, I haven't seen any slowdowns in my games, which was my main concern. My ping stayed consistent, and I didn't experience any frame drops related to the antivirus. I did have a small question about setting up the 'SafeCam' feature, so I used their online chat support. The agent was helpful and guided me through it in about 5 minutes. The only thing is I wish the initial setup wizard explained all the features a bit more in-depth, rather than me having to look some up separately.

Feeling super secure now!

I grabbed the Norton 360 Deluxe and I'm so happy with it! My devices feel totally protected, and the VPN is a huge plus. The setup was a breeze and everything just works. Definitely shopping here again when my subscription is up!

Solid security, minor hiccup

I opted for Norton 360 Premium for my family's devices. The installation was mostly smooth across different operating systems, which I appreciated. The real-time threat protection seems effective, and the firewall is robust. However, I did find the Cloud Backup feature a bit clunky to set up initially, not as intuitive as the rest of the package. Overall, it's good value for the security provided, but that one part could use some refinement.

Good basic protection

I got the Norton Antivirus Plus for my old laptop. It was easy to download and get running. My computer feels a bit safer now, which is good. Didn't have any issues with the purchase process, seemed pretty straightforward.

Does Norton offer a free trial period? I wanna test it out before I commit to a year.

R Ryan Roberts 1 month ago
Yup, they usually have a 30-day free trial. Just sign up and make sure to cancel before the trial ends if you don't want to continue, otherwise it'll auto-renew.

I got a 30-day trial last year, super easy to get. Gave me enough time to see if it worked well with my system.

I'm in Brazil, what payment methods do they accept for subscriptions? Can I pay with 'boleto bancário'?

M Melissa Jackson 12 hours ago
Boleto should be an option, yes. Most online services in Brazil offer it. I'd double check at checkout just to be sure, but it's common.

A Andrew Davis 11 hours ago
Yeah, they usually accept boleto bancário, credit cards, and sometimes PayPal. I paid with my credit card last time, but I'm pretty sure I saw the boleto option.

My subscription is about to renew, and the price is much higher than what I paid last year. Is there any way to get a discount on renewals?

O Olivia Lopez 1 month ago
Sometimes they send out renewal offers via email, but they're not as good as the first-year new user deals. Your best bet might be to contact support and tell them you're considering cancelling due to the price. They sometimes offer a retention discount.

J James Thompson 1 month ago
Yeah, renewals are always more expensive. I've heard of people getting a better deal by letting their subscription lapse and then signing up as a 'new' customer with a different email, but that's a bit of a hassle. Or just calling them to haggle.

My current antivirus (McAfee) is expiring soon. How does Norton compare, specifically the 360 version? Is it better?

P Patricia Brown 1 month ago
I switched from McAfee to Norton 360 a couple years ago. I found Norton to be less intrusive and the VPN and Dark Web monitoring in 360 are really useful. Plus, I felt like my system was a bit snappier. McAfee wasn't bad, but Norton felt like an upgrade.

Both are good, but I prefer Norton 360. It feels more comprehensive with all the extra features like cloud backup and the password manager bundled in. McAfee is fine for basic protection, but 360 offers more for your money in my opinion.

I'm thinking of getting Norton, but I've heard some antivirus programs make your computer super slow. Is that still true for Norton?

N Nick Martinez 1 week ago
Nah, not really anymore. I've been using Norton 360 for a while on my older laptop and it runs fine. Modern antivirus software is much lighter than it used to be.

J James Nelson 1 week ago
It used to be a problem years ago with pretty much all antiviruses, but Norton's pretty optimized these days. I haven't noticed any slowdowns on my work PC or gaming rig.

hey, anyone know if they do student discounts for Norton in Brazil? trying to save some cash.

J Jeff Johnson 1 month ago
Yeah, I've seen them offer it sometimes. Not always, but it pops up. Check their main site or some student discount portals, that's where I usually find these things.

I think they do, but it's not a constant thing. Usually it's more like a special promo during back-to-school season. Keep an eye out for those.

Is Norton 360 Deluxe worth it for a family with multiple devices? Or should I just get the basic antivirus?

E Elizabeth 3 weeks ago
Definitely go for the 360 Deluxe if you have a bunch of devices. It covers like 5-10 devices I think, plus you get the VPN and dark web monitoring. Way more bang for your buck than just the basic one.

O Olivia Gomez 3 weeks ago
For a family, 360 Deluxe is solid. I use it, covers my laptop, my wife's phone, and the kids' tablets. Makes managing everything way easier. The basic one is fine for a single PC but not much else.

Does anyone know if the Black Friday deals are much better than the new user discounts they have throughout the year? Trying to decide if I should wait.

J Justin M. 3 weeks ago
Black Friday is usually when they go all out. The new user discounts are good, but I've seen BF deals go even lower, sometimes up to 65% off the first year. If you can wait, it's probably worth it.

M Megan Thomas 3 weeks ago
Yeah, Black Friday is peak discount time for Norton. The regular new user offers are decent, but if you're not in a hurry, you might snag an even sweeter deal during the sales event.
